Christmas Wish List

A friend of mine put her wish list up for Christmas and the New Year and I started thinking about the things I want for the coming year. Here are just a few things on my list:

1. I would love to get picked up by a publishing company so that my books will reach more people.

2. I would love to take a trip... Maybe to New Orleans...

3. I would love to be on the Best Seller's List with a few friends... Rue, Johanna, Ressa, Eveli, Sinead, Joseph.... just to name a few...

4. I would love to be able to afford this car...

5. Really I just want to be happy this year and I want all of my friends and family to have their wishes granted!

Here's hoping all of your wishes come true in this new year!

It's driving me nuts!

For the last day my arm has been twitching. Yes I said twitching! Right by the elbow, and it's driving me insane! It doesn't really hurt, but it's noticeable as I try to type and my whole arm jumps causing my fingers to slip on the keyboard and hit a wrong letter. It's darned annoying I tell you! So I've been coming up with some theories as to why this is happening...

1. It's some form of communication from the Faerie realm... they poke my arm in a Morse code fashion and get me to write more about them.... Hmmmm, could be...

2. It's the ghost my daughter swears is living in our house and causes all the mischief that takes place around here because it can't possibly be something SHE did! Hmmmm, doubtful...

3. I'm stressed beyond reason because I have a million things to do and haven't accomplished anywhere near the amount I planned! Now this is probably the correct diagnosis, but it's not as much fun as the other two theories... So we'll just move on, shall we? Alrighty then...

4. Alien technology... yep I went there....

5. It's a tracking device implanted by the government, meant to control my facebook posts... in which case they have failed in their attempt to keep me from my silliness! :P

Those are my theories... If you have any theories please, feel free to share! I'm open to hearing them and rejecting my own in favor of yours! :D

So, you've got a book to edit and...

As I mentioned in the previous post, I'm working on edits for book two of the Agents for the Crown series. I've titled it Artifice, but this was not the original title. It has gone through several title changes since I originally wrote it. From The Rake's Rouse, to Deception and on to Artifice... The last change came about due to a recently published book in the same genre with the title Deception. So the hunt was on then for a new title. I like the new one, it's different and it looks good on the cover I designed...

Now I'm working through the story line by line, tweaking each sentence, paragraph and scene attempting to make it perfect. I know I will miss something somewhere and it will drive me insane and completely drive me into OCD behavior, but I have to try. Currently I am about one third of the way through my first run through of this. I'll do at least two run throughs and then pass it on to a friend of mine who reads the story for holes and blatant errors. If it's in bad shape then I have to go back and fix whatever story line I didn't finish, however if it's good... (Fingers are crossed for this reaction)
then it gets sent on to another friend who is kind enough to do the formatting for me because he is such a ROCK STAR with figuring out the formatting that eludes me. And then it publishing time! Well that is the plan anyway, sometimes it takes me two or three tries to get the book exactly as I want it, but I'm getting better! And until I get to this point, well... you may see this:

me, looking calm cool and collected, but really..... I feel like this:

I know you've all been there too... just admit it!

New Things

It has been a while since I've written a blog, so I thought I would share some new and interesting things going on with me and my world. First I've self published my first two books, Courting Danger, Agents for the Crown and Soul Mates: Scent. In the works are book two for Agents for the Crown which I plan to release in January 2012 , and I am currently writing books two and three for the Soul Mates series.
Next, I'm still working with a fabulous group of teachers at a local elementary school as an Aide and I love it. The kids are amazing and I enjoy it very much.
Third, Our kids are getting older, they're tweens now. How did that happen? Seems like just yesterday they were toddling around the house smashing eggs into the carpet! Now they are sassy and fun and incredible young people who have the uncanny ability to push all of my buttons at the same time, leaving me exasperated and laughing.
Fourth, I've met up with an amazingly talented group of writers, artists, musicians, photographers and whatnot on Facebook in a group called Volley View. It is a wonderful place of support and creativity. These people make me laugh and inspire me beyond reason. I adore each and every one of them!
Fifth, well as far as new is concerned I think that is everything new... But I will say my hopes for this blog are to share what is going on with my writing and my life. And of course as the great Bette Davis said... "Hold on to your hats boys, it's going to be a bumpy ride!"
